Bosch Silence Plus 48 Dba Common Problem – Easy Ways To Fix

admin March 29, 2022

Bosch may be one of the best dishwasher brands, but even the best appliances can have problems. While a dishwasher that won’t start is one of the most common problems, it can be hard to figure out how to fix it. We’ll look into the most common reasons that a Bosch silence plus 48 dba dishwasher won’t start, like not having enough power or setting it up wrong.

Why Doesn’t Your Bosch Dishwasher Start?

“Why won’t my Bosch dishwasher turn on?” you might be thinking. There may appear to be hundreds of causes for this. Our troubleshooting guide outlines the five most common causes so you can get to the bottom of the issue quickly.

The power has not been turned on.

If your Bosch dishwasher isn’t receiving power, knowing how to start it won’t help you much. Check the following power sources to make sure they’re working properly before addressing dishwashing problems:

  • Check to see that the dishwasher is properly plugged in and not using an extension cord. Dishwashers take a lot of power, and extension cords aren’t designed to handle it.
  • Verify that all power switches are turned on, and, if required, check under the sink.
  • Check your home’s circuit breaker box for any tripped breakers and, if necessary, reset them.
  • The Door to the Dishwasher Isn’t LockedIf the door isn’t securely closed and locked, your Bosch dishwasher won’t start to prevent leaks. Once it is, the control panel’s signal to start the dishwasher can be received by the switch inside the door latch. To activate the latch and switch while starting the dishwasher, make sure the door is completely closed.

The dishwasher will not start even if the door is properly closed, which is a sign of a damaged dishwasher latch or switch. With multimeter testing, a broken switch will also show a lack of continuity. Either of these components is beyond repair and must be replaced.

Dishwasher Cycle Settings Aren’t Working

A dishwasher might sometimes fail to start due to an erroneous cycle selection. Check the instructions for your Bosch dishwasher to see if it has a kid lock option or features that delay the start. If the Bosch dishwasher kid lock or another setting is enabled, an error code or symbol on the control panel will appear.

When confirming your dishwasher settings, check the control pad to make sure itโ€™s functioning properly. The control pad may need to be replaced if any of the buttons don’t respond to your touch.

Insufficient Water Supply

When a Bosch dishwasher won’t start, it could be due to a problem with the water supply. This is most likely the culprit if the dishwasher has power but does not start running or filled with water. Check that the water valve is switched on and that the dishwasher is correctly connected to the water supply in your home. Make sure the hose that connects to the valve isn’t pinched or kinked, as this will prevent water from flowing freely.

If your dishwasher’s hose and connection are secure, the water inlet valve in your dishwasher could be broken. The dishwasher’s water valve opens, allowing water to flow into the machine. If the valve is broken, it may stay closed, preventing water from reaching the dishwasher. An inlet valve that isn’t working properly has to be replaced.

The dishwasher won’t start (Bosch)

If you’ve tried everything and your Bosch dishwasher still won’t start, it’s possible that a component has failed. Our dishwasher repair service can assist you in determining which of the following frequent components has failed:

Faulty thermal fuse: If this fuse blows, the dishwasher will be turned off, keeping it from overheating. However, if the fuse is faulty, it may blow. The thermal fuse must be changed if it has blown.
A dishwasher’s timer controls the distribution of power to different dishwasher functions and is defective. It may not deliver electricity when you start your dishwasher if it isn’t working properly. A broken timer has to be replaced.
Control board failure: The main control board of the dishwasher is a computerized item within the dishwasher that helps deliver power to other components. If the control board fails, there may not be enough electricity to start the dishwasher, necessitating its replacement.

5 Typical BOSCH Dishwasher Issues

This is a list of the five most common Bosch dishwasher problems and how to fix them.

1. The Dishwasher Fills Up With Clean Water All On Its Own.

There are a lot of problems with Bosch dishwashers. One of the most common is that the dishwasher fills up with clean water on its own. If you don’t do something about this, you could be wasting water, which can add up quickly. This also causes water to spill on the floor, which could cause water damage.

This is because the water inlet valve gets stuck open. Due to calcium buildup from hard water, valves usually stay open when the solenoids get stuck because they don’t move very well. A little water will still get through the valve, but in a few hours or the next day you’ll notice that there is more water on top of the fine mesh. The inlet valve needs to be changed if the water is clear, and it needs to be done right away. There isn’t a way to clean the valve. Only new valves can be bought.

2. Bosch dishwasher is full of dirty water.

This is very bad for your health, and it also causes water to leak, which can cause a lot of expensive water damage.

When the dishwasher is full of dirty water, you’ll know this is a problem. A broken check valve is most likely to blame for a dishwasher that fills up with dirty water. Make sure that only one direction of water flows through the check valve. This way, no dirty water from the sink will get into the dishwasher from there. If the check valve is broken, then dirty water will get into the dishwasher and make it dirty. This is where the check valve will be. It will be near the drain pump in your dishwasher’s drum, inside (on some models)
A different type of check valve is on the bottom of the dishwasher (see image below) By opening the dishwasher door and taking the lower washer rack off, you can change the check valve.

Lift the lower spray arm up and put it away, then move on to the next thing. Before you do that, take the filter screen basket and filter screen out of the filter screen. Reach in and remove the cover. Pull the cover out of the washer. A flathead screwdriver can then be used to move the broken check valve out of the machine. Place the new check valve where the old one was. Once it’s in the slot, push it in to make sure it’s in place. The dishwasher needs to be put back together again, so do that.

3. The Dishwasher Isn’t Draining Right.

One of the most common problems with Bosch dishwashers is that the dishwasher doesn’t drain well.
People who have this happen to their dishwashers: The dirty water is left at the bottom of the machine.
This is very unsanitary, which is why it is very important to fix this right away. Lucky for us, this problem is easy to solve. Remove the filter and drain the water. To get rid of the water, you might need to use a cup to scoop it out. When most of the water is out, put a dry rag all the way down the drain of the washer to get rid of all the water and other things.
The dishwasher doesn’t fill up with water.

4. Water doesn’t get in the dishwasher.

People should fix this right away. A faulty water inlet valve is the same thing that can make the dishwasher not fill with water. The next step is to loosen and remove the nut with a screwdriver. When you’re done, remove the part that covers the impeller so you can see it. Check to see if anything is blocking the impeller by moving it around to see if it moves freely again. Remove all the trash. Another thing to do is pull out the rubber check valve and make sure there isn’t any debris inside.

To fix this, you can change the water inlet valve. You do this by removing the old valve, which can be done through the lower access doors. You’ll need to disconnect a wire harness, remove the brass elbow, and disconnect the waterline. It’s then time to take the old water inlet valve out and put the new one in place. It’s time to put your dishwasher back together and check to see if it’s all right again. Test the dishwasher’s solenoids, too. You might also want to do this. One thing that the solenoids do is make the water inlet valve move. They are magnets that make this happen. You will use a multimeter to see if there is a problem with the solenoids, and then you will fix them.

5. Not drying dishes in the Bosch dishwasher.

Because Bosch dishwashers don’t properly dry the dishes, this is the last common problem that people have with them. Because your dishwasher doesn’t dry the dishes properly, it has to do with how it dries them: either with a vent, vent motor, or heating mechanism. If you want to fix this, you need to check the vent and the motor. In this case, you will know that the vent for the dishwasher is broken. If you find that the vent isn’t opening the way it should buy a new one that is exactly the same. In this case, you should check the vent fan motor. To find out if your fan motor has broken, use a multimeter to see if the motor is working. To see if there is something wrong with the fan blade, you can turn it by hand.

There may be a problem with the vent fan motor or with how it turns. If this happens, you should change the fan, not just the fan itself. Finally, the third thing that could be wrong with your dishwasher’s heating element is that it doesn’t work. Use a multimeter to see if there is electricity. If it isn’t continuous, change the part that is unique to your model.
